SHAMANISM AND HEALING

2.jpg

Shamanism is one of the oldest spiritual practices. Every culture has evidence of it and many still practice it in one way or another, with their own traditions, rituals, techniques and language.  It is an earth based spirituality that respects all that exists as having Spirit; as being alive.  Traditionally Shaman's would come from a long line of practicing ancestors with cultural knowledge being passed down, generation to generation with years of intensive training.

We all the ability to move into an altered state of consciousness and work within what is referred to as non-ordinary reality or the Shamanic Realm.  Here we can work with Spirit in its many manifestations, to gain guidance, information and bring in healing.

Today many modern western shamanic practitioners have trained in some of the ancient shamanic practices, often combining them with other healing modalities to create their own blended practice.

Being able to create a safe space; holding space for other's, bringing them to a place energetically where healing can take place is how I consider myself working today.

I believe in today's modern society, where many of us have lost contact with the knowing of our own lineage, we can learn to re-connect or remember some of this knowing and our ancient ways.  We can connect with the natural world around us and to our helpers in Spirit; our guides, power animals, ancestors, the elements, directions........to work with them and learn from them.  Bringing us back to ourselves, our natural essence, our core being.

This is a completely natural way of experiencing life and beats within the heart of each of us.  Shamanic practitioners and others who work with energy believe that sickness and disease can begin outside of the physical body, which then manifests physically.  Our immediate environment in every sense, impacts our physical and emotional well being.   When we understand this, we can see how important our environment is.  Not just our physical and emotional one, but also our ancestral; what we have inherited, experienced in past lives as well as this life to form who we are and what we believe.   What we believe; our daily thoughts and decisions, directly influence our experience of life, the reality we create for ourselves.

Working with an energy healer can help release blocks/trauma, clear and shift our energy, raise our vibration and assist in bringing in peace, harmony and understanding.
